Over the years, much progress has been made within the education field, yet challenges remain to ensure that all children can learn and thrive tomorrow. The changes appear to be one of the direct impacts of the development of technology. As educational institutions continue to move toward more digital teaching and learning methods, many educators and students are forced to make progress towards the same direction.
During this process, there is a disconnect between Ed-Tech developers, educators, and students. While Ed-Tech experts aim to develop the most innovative and advanced technology to support learning, educators are struggling to catch up due to lack of training and resources. Ironically, this condition causes ineffective delivery of knowledge to students.
Students’ reliance on teachers in the traditional teaching and learning environment also creates another challenge for Ed-Tech providers to come up with an alternative solution. Currently, most applications are used in the classroom where teachers can assist students utilising them. However, what about schools which have shortages of qualified teachers? What about children who even don’t have access to schooling?
Some apps can help children learn independently, but most of them can only run on high-end devices. Children who come from low socio-economic backgrounds cannot enjoy the benefits of such technology — creating a cycle of inequality.
Current technology is created to adapt to this situation instead of creating an entirely different strategy to tackle these issues. We at Solve Education! recognised these challenges and committed to making an alternative scalable solution that makes education accessible to more children in the world!
